Representing guns, not people
Did you hear the joke about the speaker of the House who claims the sit-in by the Democrats trying to force a vote on keeping people on the terrorist watch list from accessing assault weapons was keeping the House from conducting normal business?
The House has done precious little except vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act more than 50 times. Were they going to vote on it again and couldn’t?
A Pew Research poll found only 6 percent of Republicans think nothing should be done to solve the mass murder problem. Up to 80 percent wanted some form of change. Does that mean that on this issue the Republicans only represent that minute portion of their own party? Does it surprise anyone that our very own representative, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, does not represent her constituents? She does do a really good job of representing the NRA.
Did you hear that Smith & Wesson’s stock went up the day after the Orlando massacre? Does it surprise you that five companies from the gun industries are among the biggest donors to the NRA? Is it unreasonable to wonder if these companies are more interested in maximizing profits than saving innocent lives?
