Marks too negative
For the last few years I have paid little attention to Mike Leach and his boorish antics and interviews. I pass him off as a person who projects a vast amount of egotism and little substance.
Along comes Jacob Thorpe’s article on Gabe Marks (“Marking his targets,” July 24). For the life of me I can’t imagine why an athlete with exceptional abilities would not want to portray himself in a positive light. Throughout the article the complete opposite was displayed. Perhaps Marks is taking on more and more of his coach’s persona. Sad.

DJ’s play causes headaches
I don’t quite know what the concussion protocol for the PGA is, but after watching Dustin Johnson play and hitting my head against the wall, I guess it must mean two weeks off not watching him play.
