Loyal to her party

Finally the truth comes out: Cathy McMorris Rodgers is and will always be a “party” girl. Having used her incessant re-elections to position herself as the highest ranking woman in her party, she quite easily jettisons her pledge to serve the best interests of people in order to remain loyal to her beloved party and now “reluctantly” endorses Donald Trump for president.

Could this reluctance reflect an internal moral dilemma? Probably not, since she has decided over and over again not to vote for equal pay for women. What we have facing us is this hard truth: The people that “we the people” are given to vote for are not our brightest nor best, nor are our interests primary in their pursuit of office. They are small people who think and act first for themselves, reflecting the pitiable state of our current culture.

It shouldn’t surprise any of us that in the end, supposed leaders like McMorris Rodgers will be loyal soldiers to their party, regardless of whether it’s the right and moral thing to do, or whether or not their decisions will actually benefit America or Americans. Such are the scary and sad times we live in today.
