Weekend weather: Return of summer-like conditions

A slight chance of passing showers for the end of the week gives way to summer-like conditions over the weekend, with sunny skies and warm-to-hot temperatures throughout the region.

In Spokane, Thursday and Friday will feature cloudy skies with a 20 percent chance of showers both days, with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the low 50s.

Thursday will be breezy, with winds out of the southwest at 18 mph, diminishing to 7 mph on Friday as a high-pressure system moves into the region to bring stable conditions.

There’s a better chance for wet weather for the next couple of days in North Idaho, with a 60 percent chance of evening showers Thursday night into Friday. Thursday’s high will be in the low 70s with a low of 49, and Friday will climb into the upper 70s with lows in the low 50s.

The sun reappears on Saturday across the area with light breezes from the north.

In Eastern Washington, highs will be in the upper 80s to 90 degrees and lows in the upper 50s.

Conditions on Sunday will be downright summery, with a high of 95, lows in the upper 60s and no precipitation in the forecast.

Coeur d’Alene and most of North Idaho will be a touch cooler, with highs in the mid 80s on Saturday and 94 on Sunday, again with clear, sunny skies.
