Join the “Jaunt in June”

Thanks to Blaine Stum and The Spokesman-Review for the terrific commentary on May 22 (“Destigmatize mental illness”). Sharing information about available resources, effective treatment options and the many personal stories of recovery are known to change inaccurate and unjust perceptions that promote stigma.

Please continue this positive movement by sharing with readers about an upcoming community event that does just that. The Spokane County Consumer Consultation Panel is hosting its annual “Jaunt in June” on June 7, from noon to 3 p.m. at 107 S. Division St. Walkers should arrive at noon for a short jaunt to celebrate mental health and recovery. This will be followed by a resource fair from 1-3 p.m., with information about various services available in our community.

Please join us to spread the word that mental health matters, treatment works and recovery happens.
