Weatherhead to be missed

How does one adequately summarize a life in a 200-word letter to the editor? Impossible, especially when the recently departed is beloved attorney and friend Les Weatherhead. The victim of a deadly disease that claimed his young life, Les was devoted to his Norwegian heritage and Oregon Duck education, always quick with a clever quip or a warm smile.

Fiercely independent, Les fought for not just courtroom victory, but justice. Respected by his colleagues and loved by his friends, Les lived a life worthy of the grief so many feel at his passing. A devoted husband to his lovely Anali and a loving father, Les would probably tell us to “seize the day,” realizing life’s shortness, but realizing the beauty of friendship and the importance of morality.

An accomplished trial lawyer, the profession’s most challenging specialty, Les was a determined advocate, who always sought fairness in and out of court, a just outcome was essential to his devotion to clients.

Deeply loyal to his friends at both the Witherspoon Kelley and Lee and Hayes law firms, Les was respected for his essential integrity, dignity and the colorful bow ties he proudly sported. He will be terribly missed.
