Spokane Youth Sports Association plans gala for 50th anniversary

The Spokane Youth Sports Association will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a dinner gala at the Spokane Convention Center on June 11.

The event also is a fundraiser for SYSA and includes dinner, raffles and silent and live auctions.

Money raised will “help us set a foundation for the next 50 years,” said Philip Helean, executive director of SYSA.

Special guests include Seattle Seahawks players Richard Sherman and Bobby Wagner, plus former NFL players Mark Rypien, Erik Coleman and Steve Emtman.

General admission tickets are $150 and are available at http://www.sysa.com/gala/

The deadline to order tickets is Monday.

Attendees must be 21 or older. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:30.
