Media aided Trump ascent

Many people, who I believe to be folks with critical thinking skills, seem to have forfeited the task in favor of backing Donald Trump at all costs because he isn’t Hillary Clinton. It’s interesting, because many of these folks have occupied positions wherein they were tasked with employee hiring. They learned to hire folks with resumes that included experiences directly related to the job.

Kathleen Parker, conservative-leaning columnist, says “To Trump’s supporters, a billionaire with no governing experience, questionable business practices and secret tax returns would be vastly better than she (Hillary Clinton) on no substantive basis whatsoever.”

That Trump gained any traction at all, is the media’s doing. The ever searching for shiny new things, train-wreck watching and over coverage of a contemporary claptrap machine, in competition for rating, has brought to the forefront a standard bearer of the Republican Party. A dud.

The media would be well-served by some introspective observation and make their collective way back to honest, unbiased, in-depth coverage of the issues, rather than trying to keep up with the Internet and the Kardashians.
