Support the union

Thank you for publishing the article on the region’s labor unions and the picture of solidarity by the Machinists union at the Triumph Composite site. It makes me more aware that organized labor was and is a big part of what made this country great.

There is nothing wrong with trying to hold on to the wages, benefits and working conditions of those who preceded us with their sacrifices and hard work. Corporate greed and their lawyers have hurt everyone, not just organized labor. The article mentions Triumph employees make 15 percent to 20 percent above similar jobs in the region, which, to me, is a good thing. They are not overpaid. It takes all that to raise a family, have health care and a retirement.

Hopefully more companies will organize and help themselves to a better wage and benefit package. My deepest feelings for those employees and their families of Triumph Composite. Hoping for the best.
