Councilmen should be booted

Spokane Valley Mayor Rod Higgins was quoted in Sunday’s May 29 Northwest section of the newspaper as saying, “The folks (i.e. councilman) who just resigned can’t seem to come to terms with the fact they lost.” But they didn’t lose. They resigned after being successfully reelected, but due to the illegal activities cited in this article, quit as they and others have been railroaded out of office.

We’ve lost our city manager as well as two fine, upstanding councilmen who couldn’t stand by to watch the other four councilmen’s illegal activities so they can come up with ideas like repainting our police cars and re-issuing new colored police uniforms.

Certainly our city deserves better than the substandard service these remaining councilmen (Higgins, Wood, Pace and Woodard) are providing us. I say they deserve to be booted out of office due to this illegal activity.
