Five Spokane Chiefs invited to Canada National Team camps

Five members of the Spokane Chiefs organization have been invited to take part in the Canada National Teams’ Summer Showcase in July.

Forward Jaret Anderson-Dolan will attend the under-18 camp and prospects Matt Leduc, Ty Smith, Koby Morrisseau and Eli Zummack will attend the under-17 camp held in late July.

“We’re very excited to see our players get recognized with invitations to Hockey Canada camps,” Chiefs’ general manager Tim Speltz said in a news release. “This is a very good opportunity for these players to compete against elite talent and continue their individual development.”

Both the U18 and U17 camps will take place at the Markin MacPhail Centre in Calgary from July 26-Aug. 2.

“These camps are key in selecting our international teams for the 2016-17 season,” Hockey Canada’s Scott Salmond said in a release. “We are looking forward to hosting 196 players as they work towards their ultimate goal of wearing the maple leaf.”
