Creek worth conserving

Regarding muddy waters and Hangman Creek: Through education and greater community exposure to the creek, Spokane will take more value in this unique creek. The restoration efforts scheduled by the Coeur d’Alene Tribe at the headwaters can mimic efforts to restore the stream-side ecology within the city limits.

Already, much good restoration work is being advanced by the Lands Council on the lower creek, and those within our community promoting a soft-surface interpretive trail with plant enhancements share that same vision.

Many of us see Latah/Hangman Creek as not just a creek but a wildlife corridor worth conserving.
