Newsmakers: Pacers acquire Thad Young from Nets

Acquired Brooklyn Nets’ Thaddeus Young is on his way to Indiana, bringing his versatile game to a Pacers team looking to get faster. The Pacers acquired Young Thursday with the 20th overall pick.

Transferred Florida State signee Keion Joyner is going the JUCO route. The four-star linebacker from North Carolina is academically ineligible to enroll at FSU and will instead attend Fort Scott Community College.

Former blue-chip quarterback recruit David Sills, who received a scholarship offer from USC while he was in middle school, is leaving West Virginia and plans to transfer to junior college. Sills who played receiver last season is transferring to “pursue his dream of playing quarterback.”

Awarded Broncos’ legend, John Elway has won the Horrigan Award from the Professional Football Writers of America as the league or club official who best helps the writers do their job. Denver’s vice president of football operations and GM has used a candid and open media policy.
