Man shot in thumb while swinging machete at home invaders

From staff reports

Police are still looking for two men who allegedly shot another man in his right thumb – the same thumb gripping a machete – Wednesday.

About 12:15 p.m., Troy Crozier, 35, awoke to his roommate telling him there was a man with a gun in the living room of their apartment at Third Avenue and Haven Street. According to court documents, Crozier grabbed a nearby machete and went into the kitchen area.

There, he was confronted by two men, one holding a chrome pistol. According to court documents, one suspect told Crozier he “wanted the drugs and the money,” to which Crozier responded that they had the wrong place. Crozier then made a swing with the machete and told them to get out.

Then, when Crozier’s hands were lowered, the suspect with the gun shot Crozier in the right thumb, court document say.

Court documents describe both suspects as white males in their mid-to-early 30s. One is described being 6-feet tall, weighing 180 pounds and wearing a baseball cap and white shirt. He was holding the pistol that shot Crozier. The other suspect is described as 5-feet-8-inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with a shaved head. He also had a pit bull with him.
