Pakootas gets gun issue

The NRA’s “weapons woman” is Washington state’s very own Cathy McMorris Rodgers. She has received over $12,000 from the NRA, and she works hard for them. In 2012, when 20 schoolchildren and six adults were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary school, Cathy commented, “I think we have to be careful about new-suggesting new gun laws.”

Now, after a mass shooting where 49 people lost their lives to a man using an assault weapon, we would think Cathy would stand up, denounce such actions, and speak up to protect Americans. Alas, she did not.

She made absolutely no comment on addressing guns or gun laws. But she did say, “This is a time for Americans … to lean on one another, to pray together, to lift each other up.” I wonder how long she plans on us leaning on one another as Americans are slaughtered.

Joe Pakootas is running against the NRA’s “weapons woman” this November. He believes in common sense gun control and he cares for his fellow Americans. We must get registered to vote and vote her out of Congress this November. I am sure the NRA will have a job waiting for her.
