Stop terrorists, criminals from buying guns

A radicalized Muslim who was once on a terrorist watch list used a Sig Sauer assault rifle in Orlando. He legally purchased his weapon, even though the FBI had investigated him twice for terrorist ties. Previously, a gun store owner found him suspicious enough to call the FBI.

We must stop suspected terrorists, dangerously unstable people, felons and domestic violence criminals from buying these deadly weapons and protect our Second Amendment. Americans can buy their hunting and home defense weapons whenever they wish, but no suspected terrorist should be able to buy assault rifles. These weapons are for our military, not murderers.

Preventing the sale of assault rifles and machine guns does not violate the Second Amendment. The NRA and the Republican leadership will argue otherwise but they are misleading us over money and politics. They voted against a sane weapon’s law, with Sandy Hook parents in the gallery. That is heartless partisan politics, not statesmanship.

Have we not seen enough little children killed? Must Americans continue to die at the hands of armed sociopaths?
