Liberty Lake Police Blotter: Vehicle prowlers still targeting Liberty Lake residents

Vehicle prowling continues to be an issue in Liberty Lake, with reported cases up sharply last week. Based on police reports, it appears that specific neighborhoods are seeing more than their fair share of crimes.

On June 20, police took three reports of vehicle prowls between the 1000 and 1400 blocks of North Malvern Road. One vehicle had its door pried open while the others were left unlocked, said Liberty Lake Police Chief Brian Asmus.

Items of value were taken in each incident. A yellow bike was also stolen from an unlocked garage where two vehicles were prowled. The bike was located in Spokane the next day and has been returned to its owners, Asmus said.

Additional vehicle prowl reports were received from the 24000 block of East Cataldo Court and the 23000 block of East Settler Drive on June 20; the 23000 block of East Riverside Avenue, the 23000 block of East Settler Drive and the 100 block of North Wright Boulevard on June 22; and the 1800 block of North Pepper Lane on June 23.
