Embrace Muslim neighbors

I agree with Hidayatullah Ahsan (“Muslim leaders should condemn,” June 17).

And why are only the Muslim assassins called terrorists? What about Seung-Hui Cho, Virginia Tech; Adam Lanza, Sandy Hook; the Columbine shooters, and Aaron Alexis, Navy Yard, Washington D.C., just to name a few? Why aren’t they called terrorists?

Among the U.S.’s worst mass killings, only a few were done by Muslims. And some of them possibly have mental health issues.

Let’s be more cognizant about checking the backgrounds of people trying to buy assault weapons, please. And let’s embrace our Muslim neighbors.
