The Dirt: Outback Steakhouse draws diners to NorthTown, hot tub dealer opens in Valley

Treva Lind correspondent

Outback Steakhouse has opened in a renovated space at NorthTown Mall, part of the shopping center’s redeveloped north concourse.

The north Spokane restaurant relocated to 4750 N. Division St. from a space that’s now closed at Franklin Park Commons shopping center. As part of its opening, the new Outback will donate half of all Monday proceeds to Second Harvest food bank.

Featuring “Modern Australia” design and décor, the restaurant is a franchise company of Tampa, Florida-based Bloomin’ Brands. Franchisee Evergreen Restaurant Group operates 15 Outbacks in the state, including one near the Spokane Valley Mall.

The Outback at NorthTown is next to the new Bonefish Grill, another Bloomin’ Brands restaurant set to open later this month. The restaurants share a kitchen but have separate entrances and dining areas. Combined, they’ll have 175 employees and occupy 9,814 square feet next to Kohl’s.

New owner for Post Street building

The building also has a second floor that could be leased out later as office space. The structure sat vacant for a number of years, so it needs renovation and updating prior to occupancy.
