Bernie Sanders plans Spokane rally during NW swing

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is bringing his presidential campaign to Spokane on Sunday night in advance of the state Democratic caucuses on March 26.

Sanders will be at the Spokane Convention Center, 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., for a rally following similar events that day in Vancouver and Seattle.

The doors for the Spokane event will open at 6 p.m. and the rally will start at 9 p.m. The rally is free and open to the public. Reservations are strongly recommended; visit go.berniesanders.com to RSVP.

He’ll also be in Idaho Falls on Friday and Boise on Monday, ahead of the Idaho Democratic caucuses on Tuesday.

Washington state’s first library kiosk opens in Spokane’s West Central neighborhood

new  Spokane Public Library unveiled a new library kiosk outside the West Central Community Center Tuesday, the first automated machine of its kind in Washington state. The machine works like a vending machine and allows people to use their library cards to check out books and movies. Materials also can be returned at the kiosk, which will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
