Liberty Lake woman accused of assaulting a child

Liberty Lake police arrested a woman suspected of assaulting a baby sitter and two children.

The baby sitter told police that she was returning the woman’s two young children to her apartment in the 24900 block of East Spotted Owl Lane around 8 p.m. March 16 when the woman “flipped out” and grabbed her 4-year-old daughter by the hair and threw her on a bed, according to court documents.

The woman, then allegedly grabbed the baby sitter’s daughter and threw her across the room. When the baby sitter objected, the woman reportedly hit the baby sitter twice in the face, according to court documents.

Arrests: Police made two arrests for driving with a suspended license and one for driving under the influence.

Citations: Officers handed out citations for failure to show proof of liability insurance, failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, prohibited turn, improper signaling, speeding and minor in possession of alcohol.
