Helen-Gene

Gene Edgren, 91, passed away on Sunday, March 20, in Spokane.

Helen-Gene Moses was born in Auburn, WA, on September 4, 1924, to Merton and Blanche Moses.


She graduated from WSU in 1947.

She loved her college years and being a part of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority.

Gene married C. Gordon Edgren in 1948.

The military moved them to Alabama, Connecticut, and finally back to Spokane.


Gene was a fiercely independent lady.

She golfed for 35 years, and enjoyed skiing into her late 70’s.

Gene travelled the world with her best friend, George Bell.

They went to Russia, the Panama Canal, Egypt, and China (to see her favorite animal - a Panda Bear).

She loved her friends at the Southside Senior Center where she played Bridge and enjoyed beating the men at poker.


Gene, “Nana,” loved her children, their spouses, and delighted in watching her grandkids play sports and grow.

Nana loved to be included!

She passed on her love of the outdoors as well as skiing.

She had a great sense of humor, and loved her family with all her heart.
Gene was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Virginia Morris, brother, Kenneth Moses, Gordon Edgren, and George Bell.

Gene is survived by her son, Paul Edgren (Cindy) of Cusick, Washington, and daughter, Ann Aronson (Kerry) of Spokane, grand- children Kyle Aronson (Ellen), of Puyallup, Kevin Aronson (Meredith) of Spokane, Paul A. Edgren of Spokane, Sara Holwegner (Joe) of Spangle, Jennifer Edgren of Spokane, and numerous great-grand- children.


Gene wished for there to be no funeral services.
