Age 91

KYNOCH,
Inez R.
(Age 91)

Longtime Colfax area resident, passed away at the Hospice House of Spokane on March 25, 2016.

Friends may call and pay their respects at Bruning Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 29 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30 at Peace Lutheran Church in Colfax with Rev.

Phil Misner officiating.

Burial will follow at the Colfax Cemetery.
Inez was born on September 10, 1924 in Bisbee, North Dakota to Vern and Martha (Larson) Maler.

She grew up in Bisbee and graduated high school there in 1941.

During her high school years she became acquainted with a handsome young man named Lloyd Kynoch and, after he returned from his service in World War II, the couple married on September 10, 1946 in Bisbee.
They moved to Pasco, Washington where Lloyd began his career as a grain inspector for the State of Washington.

When Lloyd became head inspector and the family moved to Spokane where they made their home until 1974 when they moved to Colfax when the state offices relocated.

Inez worked as a “donut slinger” at Excel Foods in Colfax for a number of years.
Inez and Lloyd enjoyed many summers of fishing and camping at Williams Lake and were avid bowlers in the camping off-season.

Their favorite place to eat out was Eddy’s in Colfax and they even had a “regular” table there.

Inez loved baking, canning and making Christmas candies for folks.

Her nephew recalls that her cake frosting was the best he had ever tasted.

She also had a wonderful sense of humor and had perfected the art of telling clean jokes.
Perhaps the greatest hobby that Inez and Lloyd shared was their love of all things sports - professional or local.

If you paid a visit to their house it was not uncommon for them to have three games going on different televisions.

They were also avid Colfax Bulldog supporters, rarely missing a CHS sporting event.

She and Lloyd would follow Bulldog sports all over the northwest, loading up their camper and cheering the teams on at regional and state tournaments.
Inez was the epitome of a true lady and was always a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Her gentle spirit touched so many lives over the years and she will be truly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her brother Ken “Bubba” Maler; daughter Linda (Ken, Sr.) Peters; grandchildren Ken, Jr., Monica and Angela; two great-grandchildren, Miranda and Weston; many nieces and nephews as well as her niece and nephew from Lloyd’s family, JoAnn Nearance and Merlin (Sharon) O’Brien.

She was preceded in death by her son Randy in 1988 and husband Lloyd in 2012, as well as two siblings.
Memorial contributions in Inez’s honor are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church or to benefit your favorite Colfax High School athletic program.
