LILJENBERG, Cheryl Lynn
(Age 65)

Cheryl joined our Lord in Heaven on March 21, 2016.

She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Spokane, WA, after her battle with lung cancer.

Cheryl was born April 4, 1950, at Deaconess Hospital, in Spokane the daughter of Earl Walter Krupke and Murtis (Jackson) Krupke.


Her competitive nature was known and appreciated by all.

If she couldn’t do it well, she learned to do it.

She recently became an avid tennis player and was the queen of “aces.”

She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed playing card games.

The words “rattle, rattle, rattle” will forever live in our hearts and minds.


Cheryl, a daughter of farmers, grew up in Waukon, (Lincoln County) WA.

She was a member of the Happy Homemakers 4-H club.

The entire club won many county awards and trophies for their participation in numerous activities including cooking, baking, childcare, canning and demonstrations.


Cheryl graduated as the Salutatorian from Reardan High School in 1968.

As a result, she earned a full academic scholarship to Washington State University.
Smart and ambitious, she started her mortgage banking career at Great Western Union Federal Savings and Loan Association.

She was later recruited by Norwest Mortgage (nka Wells Fargo) where she built her own team of residential mortgage loan professionals to service all of Eastern Washington.

Cheryl retired from her successful career at Wells Fargo in 2011.


In 1996, Cheryl married Rob Liljenberg.

They moved to Port Ludlow, WA in 2003 in furtherance of Cheryl’s career.

Cheryl was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997 and lived cancer free for 18 years due to the loving support of her husband.

They relished their time at their retirement home in Glendale, AZ, where they enjoyed the Mariners Spring Training and cruising the lake.


Cheryl raised three beautiful daughters, Shelley, Shannon and Shawna.

She made many sacrifices to ensure that they each received a college education - a gift that will not be forgotten.
She was a passionate Disney collector; we will always cherish the memories of Cheryl’s Disney handbags.

Disneyland was one of her favorite places on Earth.

Cheryl was able to spend last Thanksgiving in Disneyland with her three daughters - a wish that her heart made that came true.


Cheryl was a member of the Reardan United Methodist Church until she moved to Spokane.

Later in life, Cheryl attended the Shadle Park Presbyterian Church and the Port Ludlow Community Church.


Cheryl is survived and greatly missed by her husband, Rob Liljenberg of Port Ludlow, WA; daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Jeff Ripley of Spokane, WA, daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Kevin Depew of Everett, WA, daughter and son-in-law, Shawna and Jim Coan of Spokane, WA; five grandchildren, Zachary Wright, Trent Ripley, Jenna Depew, Erika Depew and Kennedy Coan; one grandchild on the way; her brother, Leslie Earl Krupke; a niece, Dawn Krupke; and a nephew, Matthew Krupke.


Funeral Services for Cheryl will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Reardan United Methodist Church, 155 S. Oak, Reardan, Washington 99029.

The entombment will be the same day at 2:30 p.m., at the Pines Mausoleum, Pines Cemetery, 16th and Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA.

The viewing will be held April 1, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.

Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Reardan United Methodist Church or a charity of choice.
