Spokane Valley woman allegedly stabs boyfriend after reconciliation goes awry

Police say an argument between a Spokane Valley couple ended with a woman stabbing her boyfriend in the stomach.

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Carmen P. Miller, 52, also known as Carmen Botzon, Monday night after she left her boyfriend’s apartment on South Havana Street. According to court documents, the victim told deputies he had invited Miller over to make up.

The two began arguing after Miller called her boyfriend by her ex-boyfriend’s name, the victim told police. They argued, and he eventually told her to leave. As he was escorting her to the door, Miller stabbed him in the stomach with a pocket knife, court documents say.

Deputies responded and found Miller hiding in the pushes nearby the apartment, court documents say. A pocket knife was in her purse.

Miller faces a first-degree assault charge.
