John David

John David Searle was born April 24, 1945 Salt Lake City, Utah to Ralph and Florence L. Searle.

He grew up in Salt Lake City and Ogden, Utah and attended Weber State College and the University of Utah.

He served in the United States Naval Reserve as a Hospital Corpsman from May 1963 to May 1974.

He was attached to the United States Marine Corps as a Corpsman from 1965 - 1966, serving with the 3rd Force Service Regiment.

He served with the Centerville Utah Police Force 1973 - 1975.

From 1975 to 2001 he served with the United States Border Patrol Retiring as a Supervisory Border Patrol Agent.

A highlight of his career were the apprehensions of large groups of illegal entrants and leading the law enforcement co-ordination center, which was comprised of 22 law enforcement agencies in counter-drug operations along the California - Mexico border.

John was a member of the Tailhook Assoc.

since 1993.

He truly embraced the organization with passion and became a dedicated volunteer from 1993 until his death.

He was a devoted daddy and grandfather.

He found joy in bringing happiness to others.

He is survived by his wife Betty C. Searle; two children, Amanda Braley and Justin Searle; and five beautiful grandchildren.

A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1703 N. Washington, Spokane, WA 99205.

Interment to follow at 2:15 pm at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake.
