Bonner County sheriffs continue search for murder suspect

Bonner County Sheriff Deputies continue to search for a man wanted for murder in southern Idaho.

Police believe James Mancuso, 32, and Ashly Ford, 27, may still be in Bonner County, although they aren’t sure. Mancuso allegedly stabbed and killed a man in Nampa, Idaho March 10 after getting in an argument.

Mancuso’s mother lives in Bonner County, and he grew up there, said Captain Ror Lakewold. Mancuso’s mother is cooperating with deputies, Lakewold said.

An Idaho State trooper stopped Mancuso and Ford on March 23, however the two fled eventually driving down a railroad. The state trooper got stuck in gravel on the railroad and was unable to pursue.

Police located Mancuso’s vehicle several hours later and started tracking the couple with dogs. However, due to heavy rain the dogs lost the scent, Lakewold said.

The next day a truck was reported stolen near where Mancuso and Ford were believed to have last been. Lakewold said the sheriff’s office searched for the two with dogs and helicopters but were unable to find them.
