Obituary: Sandon, Jean Orville

Age 90

SANDON, Jean Orville
(Age 90)

Passed away April 30, 2016 at Sunshine Gardens in Spokane Valley, WA.

Jean was born February 7, 1926 in Lead, South Dakota to Raleigh and Amy Sandon.

Jean spent much of his youth in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, moving to St. Ignatius, Montana when he was seventeen years old.

He worked on the family’s dairy farm until he enlisted in the army in 1947.

He married the love of his life Ramona in 1952 in Seattle, WA.

Jean and Ramona soon moved to Spokane and later to Kennewick, WA where Jean worked for Bechtel at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in the 1960s and 1970s.

Throughout his career, Jean also worked at the Diablo Canyon Power Plant in California, and for a short time, in Guam.

Jean and Ramona moved back to Spokane in 2003.
Jean loved football, especially the Seattle Seahawks!

Jean was a Shriner for many years.

He loved to work on cars with his son and was very devoted to his family and would gladly give his time to support those he loved.

A man of endless humor, Jean always had something tricky up his sleeve to make people laugh.

Jean was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty years, Ramona Jean (Thompson) Sandon, and their son, Scott Orville Sandon.

Jean is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Betsy and Mark Wallace of Medical Lake, WA; five grandchildren; nine great-grand- children; and sister, Reva Nichols of Cottonwood, California.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all the caring employees at Moran Vista Senior Living, Sunshine Gardens, Hospice of Spokane and Lilac Services for the Blind.
