Passed away on May 8, 2016 at Royal Park Care Center in Spokane, WA.

Funeral Services will be held on May 11, 2016 at 10 am at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, Spokane.

Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.


Cleone was born August 3, 1917 in Nevada, Missouri.

She was the youngest of three children.

At an early age, her family relocated to Hayford village near present day Airway Heights, WA where she attended school in a one-room schoolhouse.

When she was a teenager, she fell in love with one of her brother’s close friends, John Wigen.

After a few years of courtship, they eventually married when Cleone was 19 years old.

Cleone and John spent the majority of their life together living nearby or in Spokane, WA.


Cleone spent her entire life as a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, and a wise great grandmother.

Throughout Cleone’s life, she easily made friends wherever she lived.

Cleone would frequently host gatherings at her house where her friends could get together, gossip, and conduct Bible studies.

She is well known for her charm, her sense of humor, and her vigor and strength to overcome difficult obstacles.


Cleone is survived by her two sons, Jerry Wigen and wife Gisela who live in North Carolina and Michael Wigen and wife Jennie who live in Texas.

Cleone has five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her second son Billy, in 2009 and by her two older brothers.
