Sandpoint attorney recognized for bankruptcy expertise

From staff reports

Sandpoint attorney Ford Elsaesser, a nationally recognized expert in bankruptcy law, will be inducted into the University of Idaho Alumni Association’s Hall of Fame on Friday.

Elsaesser graduated from UI’s law school in 1977 and co-founded Elsaesser Jarzabek Anderson Elliott & Macdonald law firm in Sandpoint.

Elsaesser is known for his work in bankruptcy and company restructuring after a filing. His first major Chapter 11 filing was Riley Creek Lumber Co., which successfully reorganized and later merged with another firm to become Idaho Forest Group.

Elsaesser has taught bankruptcy law at UI for more than a decade and also coaches the bankruptcy moot court team.
