Huskies crush Cardinal in Pac-12 softball
Taylor Van Zee drove in three runs with a pair of hits and Morganne Flores and Tannon Snow each hit a home run to power the Washington Huskies (34-13, 14-8 Pac-12) to a 9-0 six-inning victory over the Stanford Cardinal (13-33, 0-22) in Pac-12 Conference softball action on Wednesday in Stanford, California.
Huskies starter Madi Schreyer (11-4) went the distance and allowed just one hit. She struck out six and walked three.
Heptathlon
Eastern Washington Eagles junior Kendra Hamm finished sixth at the Big Sky Conference Track and Field Championships in Greeley, Colorado.
Hamm, the first-day leader, finished with a career-best 4,676 points – the third highest total in EWU history.
Men’s golf
Washington State Cougars sophomore Aaron Whalen qualified for the U.S. Open sectional qualifier after finishing second at a U.S. Open local qualifier in Roslyn, Washington.
