COLMAN, June M.
(Age 93)

June Colman went to be with her Lord May 15, 2016.

She was born June Montana Mahoney in Avery, Idaho, July 25, 1922.

Her parents were Joseph Francis Mahoney and Vera Zimmerman Mahoney.

She moved at a young age to Youngstown, Ohio, eventually returning to Spokane as a teenager.
She met and married John Harrison Colman Sr. February 21, 1942.

John, her husband of 57 years preceded her in death in February, 1999.
June was very active in both the churches she attended during her lifetime.

She was the social secretary at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Spokane and later, a charter member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Mead, Washington.

An active member of PTA and a Cub Scout Den Mother while her children were in school, she also did a lot of other volunteer work in the community, notably as a docent at the Museum of Native American Cultures.

She was a student of Southwest Indian Cultures and spent much time studying at museums, reservations, colleges, and on archaeological digs.
Some of the happiest years of her life were spent at the family lake cabin on Priest Lake.

She remembered those time with glee.
June is survived by her three sons: George Harrison Colman and his wife Linda, John Harrison Colman Jr. and his wife Sharon, and Richard Alan Colman; two sisters: Joyce Elaine Winne and Jean Carol Remaley, both of Florida.

She is also survived by her grandsons: Mark Colman and his wife Suzi and Shane Colman and his wife Melissa; two granddaughters: Shawna Nearing and her husband Rowan Boyd and Alison Zizzo and her husband Michael.

She is further survived by her niece Margie and six grandchildren that she loved very much.
A Celebration of June’s Life will be held at Covenant United Methodist Church, 15515 N. Gleneden Dr., on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00AM.

She was a wonderful mother and friend, Mom you will be missed so much.
