Obituary: Payne, Dale David

Age 72

PAYNE,
Dale David
(Age 72)

Passed away May 12, 2016 at his home in Inchelium, WA.

Dale was born January 1, 1944 to Alfred Eneas Payne and Leatha Rickard.

Dale attended primary school in the Spokane area and is a 1963 graduate of North Central High School in Spokane.

An adventurous soul, Dale set off for California where he obtained a degree in engineering and worked as a nurse to put himself through school.

He worked as an orderly for Deaconess, where his inventor’s knack and engaging bedside manner was a sure contribution.

Dale was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers and The Confederate Tribes of the Colville Reservation.
Dale married Mary Raki January 1, 1970 and was a proud father of Luke Payne and Amy Dunnell and the grandfather of Javin and Jordan Payne and Kirsten Dunnell.
Dale had a love for camping, dirt bikes, collecting and shooting guns, tinkering and spending time with family and friends.
Dale will be remembered for his servant’s heart as he was always willing to help and his work ethic could put bodies 50 years younger to shame.

A curious and imaginative mind with a can-do attitude, Dale did not see limitations but opportunities.

He will also be remembered for his irreverent wit, humor and unpretentious intelligence.

He enjoyed bantering if only because he loved the exchange to tease or be teased.

He also loved to laugh and his infectious laughter brought joy to many.
Dale is survived by his sister, Penny Krause, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Ivan and Michael Payne.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home at 1306 N. Monroe, Spokane, WA.

Families who wish may leave condolences at 2907 E. Pine Needle Ave., Colbert, WA 99005.
