CHRISTENSON, Linda Claire Ogden
72 Years of Life

Linda C. Christenson, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday May 15th sur- rounded by her loving family, in the home where she was raised in Chattaroy, WA.

Born on January 9, 1944, the fifth of nine children, to Ormel and Margaret Ogden.

She attended Riverside High School, where she made many life-long friends, graduating in 1962.

Afterwards she became an employee of the Spokane Public Library, until she married and devoted her time to what she saw as the most important and fulfilling job she had, being a loving wife and mother of her three children.

In 1987 she returned to the workforce as a bookkeeper for Tipke Manufacturing, where she gained many treasured friendships, until her retirement in 2009
After her retirement, Linda devoted her time to things she took great joy in, such as attending Bible study, sewing, quilting, learning Spanish and gardening.

A shared love of gardening brought her and her devoted husband Tom Christenson together.

She and Tom were married in a family ceremony on January 1, 2011.
An adventurous gardener, Linda enjoyed working in her potting shed lovingly built for her by her husband, and their garden was the envy of all who saw it.

She and Tom worked together to create the beautiful home that they lived in, making long lasting memories for family and friends.

Linda treasured time spent with all her grandchildren and supported them with her loving presence at countless sporting and musical events.

She was a proud member of the Chattaroy Community Church, where her family has longstanding ties.

She is survived by her husband Tom Christenson, her children, Wallace “Chip” Bates, Jennifer Bates, and Stephanie Crawford; Her grandchildren, Christopher and Nicole Bates, Micah, Ethan and Gage Crawford, and Grayson and Alida Rodriguez-Bates; as well as her daughter-in-law and sons-in-law whom she loved as her own: Kaynell Bates, Ernie Crawford and Renzo Rodriguez; her sister Nancy Gragg; her bothers, Harvey, Don, Dave and John Ogden; and many nieces and nephews.

She is reunited with her parents Ormel and Margaret Ogden, as well as her sisters Carolyn Hart, Jeannie Curryer and Mary May.

Linda was a caring, loyal and giving person, who had a lasting impact on the lives of those around her.

There is no greater example of this than the vast number of friends and family that visited her in the last months of her life, each expressing a deep love and gratitude for her.

She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service honoring Linda will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday May 21, 2016, at the Chattaroy Community Church with a reception following the service in the churches dining room.
