Objection purely political

A guest essay on May 14 by Professor Craig Hemmens from Washington State University gyrated in verbal anguish because football coach Mike Leach had the audacity to introduce Donald Trump at a recent rally. While admitting that Leach had every right to make the introduction, Hemmens states that Leach improperly took advantage of his job position to advocate for a particular political ideology.

In all likelihood, Hemmens’ real concern is that any WSU facility member would publicly support any idea or person that does not agree with his own hard-left personal beliefs. Conservative political thought or action is under constant suppression on college campuses and WSU is no exception. The intolerant left will wage a campaign for Leach’s dismissal.

Professor Hemmens’ Facebook page confirms his political ideology. His favorite TV shows include Maddow, Hayes and O’Donnell from MSNBC; favorite politicians include Bernie Sanders, Al Franken and Elizabeth Warren; supported organizations include the Occupy Democrat Movement.

Hemmens states that a person should not use their (job) position to influence others with their own personal political ideology. I wonder if the professor has ever used his position to advocate his own political philosophies in the classroom or his writings. Nah.
