PETA offers $5,000 in case of Idaho cat shot with dart
A solid tip on who shot a Coeur d’Alene cat with a blowgun dart is worth $5,000, says the animal rights activist group PETA.
Red, the 11-year-old tabby short-hair mix, was found May 12 with the 4-inch dart stuck in his skull. It narrowly missed his eye and brain, and Red is recovering.
PETA, which opposes eating, wearing, experimenting on or abusing animals, offered a $5,000 reward Wednesday for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for shooting Red.
Neighbors reported seeing blow darts lying around and stuck in trees and car tires in the neighborhood of North Eighth Street and East Birch Avenue.
“PETA is urging anyone with information about his attacker to come forward immediately, before this culprit hurts anyone else,” PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said in a news release.
