Gaelen Lawson, from CertaPro Painters, sprays paint 22 feet up the exterior of the Boys and Girls Club of Spokane gym on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Ten volunteers from the Sherwin-Williams Co. and Lawson scraped and painted the building as part of National Painting Week. Some 40 gallons of paint was expected to cover the building that once was a convent for nuns. “It makes a statement that we are here for the long haul. It helps us dig our anchor a little deeper,” said Dick Hanlin, Boys & Girls Club executive director. (Dan Pelle / The Spokesman-Review)
