Global warming won’t wait

I have noted that some environmentally progressive voters have decided to vote against Initiative 732 because they think the taxes thereby accrued should be used differently than proposed. I believe this side argument is most unfortunate and urge those progressive voters to vote for I-732.

It provides a landmark improvement in assigning a cost to fossil-fuel use, and we should not let our various perceptions of the perfect get in the way of the good. We are running out of time in our fight against global warming and at this critically important moment should not waste time fighting over preferred seats on a bus that is about to go over the cliff.
