Adult and two children found dead in vehicle in Fernan Lake

One adult and two small children were found dead Thursday morning in a vehicle submerged in Fernan Lake.

The vehicle was found fully submerged near the boat launch on the west side of the lake, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office. A dive team was called in at about 10:45 a.m. and the deaths remain under investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office said it’s waiting to release names until their family has been notified.
