Gonzaga sophomore guard Josh Perkins will miss Saturday’s exhibition game against West Georgia and the season opener Friday against Utah Valley, the school announced.

Perkins was charged last month with physical control of a vehicle while under the influence.

Gonzaga, citing the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), had no additional comment in a two-paragraph release.

Perkins started all 36 games last year, averaging 10.1 points and 4.1 assists. He scored a season-high 26 points against Santa Clara.
