Prep football: Mt. Spokane routed by defending state champions Eastside Catholic

Mt. Spokane’s road to the 3A State tournament came to an abrupt end as they fell 43-17 to host Eastside Catholic.

The Crusaders, the defending state champions, built a 43-3 lead at the half to eliminate the Wildcats.

1A: Colville got off to a fast start to defeat host Cashmere 64-28 in a play-in game.

The Indians outscored the Bulldogs 28-0 in the second quarter and led 42-7 at halftime. Colville advances to the round of 16.

Idaho

3A: Tyler Visser passed for three touchdowns, all to Bryson Comstock, and ran for another score as Gooding routed host Timberlake 54-18 in a State quarterfinal.

Brandon Hausladen passed for a score and ran in another for the Tigers.

2A: St. Maries defeated North Fremont 33-14 in the State quarterfinals at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow.

The Lumberjacks will face off against Bear Lake in the semifinals.
