License of massage therapist accused of sexual assault suspended

The Department of Health has suspended the license of a Liberty Lake massage therapist accused of drugging and sexually molesting two of his clients.

Phillip W. Harris was working at Binns Family Chiropractic at 22910 E. Appleway Ave. earlier this year when two women said Harris sprayed them with an unknown substance during their massages, after which they could not move. The women accused Harris of sexually molesting them while they were in a drugged state.

The Department of Health acted on Harris’ license because of unprofessional conduct and sexual misconduct, alleging that he presented an “immediate danger” to the public.

The Liberty Lake Police Department has requested that Harris be charged with one count of second-degree rape and one count of indecent liberties. The request is being reviewed by the prosecutor’s office, said Police Chief Brian Asmus.

Court documents indicate that Harris has been fired by Binns Family Chiropractic.
