Idaho’s McCorkell is Big Sky women’s basketball player of week

Idaho forward Geri McCorkell was chosen as the Big Sky Conference women’s basketball player of the week, it was announced Tuesday.

McCorkell had 14 points and seven rebounds in a season-opening win at Seattle. Then, in Tuesday’s win at Cal State Fullerton, the Australia native scored a career-high 30 points, surpassing her previous career high of 22. She also grabbed six rebounds.

She is averaging 54.3 percent shooting from the floor.
