Prosecutor: Idaho man arrested with 52 pounds of marijuana

Associated Press

TOMS RIVER, N.J. – Authorities in southern New Jersey say a 65-year-old Idaho man has been arrested carrying 52 pounds of marijuana and $118,000 in cash.

Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato announced Friday the arrest of David Lincoln. Coronato said the Ketchum resident faces charges including possession with intent to distribute and money laundering.

Coronato said Lincoln’s arrest culminated a three-month investigation. He said authorities believe Lincoln traveled across the country in a 1997 Jeep Cherokee to sell marijuana from a pop-up camper.

On Thanksgiving morning, county authorities and members of the Jackson Township police department pulled Lincoln over in Jackson Township.

Coronato estimated the value of the marijuana to be about $150,000.

Lincoln was being held on $575,000 bail in the Ocean County Jail.

It wasn’t known if Lincoln had retained an attorney.
