Man arrested on suspicion of trying to set an apartment building on fire near North Central High School

From staff reports

A man was arrested Sunday morning for allegedly attempting to set an apartment building on fire near North Central High School.

Residents of an apartment complex in the 1400 block of North Lincoln Street said they noticed a man pouring lighter fluid all over the complex’s second floor, court documents say. According to witnesses, the man, identified as Anthony Flory, 37, then went door to door, pounding on them with a stick and asking residents if they had a lighter. Flory attempted to enter some people’s apartments, court documents say.

Spokane Police officers arrived to find Flory on the corner of North Lincoln Street and Sinto Avenue attempting to stick a syringe full of meth into his left arm, court records say. According to court documents, he was “found with a lighter on his person.”

Police are recommending charges of first-degree attempted arson.
