Seattle police arrested Duy Bui-Nguyen Tuesday afternoon after the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office identified him as a suspect in a Spokane Valley homicide.

Two people who arrived at a home in the 13100 block of East Heroy Ave. called deputies at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday after finding a man’s body inside the home, said Sheriff’s Office spokesman Deputy Mark Gregory.

Bui-Nguyen was found driving a stolen black 2004 Ford F150 truck with checkered yellow flames on the side. The truck has been seized as evidence. Bui-Nguyen was contacted by police in Seattle at 5 a.m. Tuesday but not held because the victim’s body had not yet been discovered, Gregory said. Police were able to relocate him later in the day and arrest him.

Investigators believe there was a “violent, fatal altercation” between the two men, who knew each other, sometime late Monday, Gregory said. The name of the victim has not yet been released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner.

Bui-Nguyen has several arrests on his record, including one for fighting with deputies, Gregory said.
