Liberty Lake Police Blotter: Property disappearing from porches

In addition to the usual vehicle prowls and thefts, some Liberty Lake residents have recently reported the theft of items from their front porches.

The first incident was a combination of a vehicle prowl and a porch theft. A resident in the 1300 block of North Samantha Road reported on Sept. 26 that someone had broken into her car overnight and stolen items. A few items also were missing from the front porch, Police Chief Brian Asmus said.

A resident in the 20000 block of East Meyers Avenue called police the evening of Sept. 28 to report two rocking chairs taken from the front porch, Asmus said. The chairs were valued at $200.

Other calls from Sept. 26 to Oct. 3

Sept. 26: A vehicle prowl was reported in the 1600 block of North Holl Blvd. and about $100 worth of items were reported missing.

Sept. 28: Damage reportedly caused by previous tenants was reported in the 24000 block of East Sharp Avenue. Some damage was visible, but police advised the owner that there was no proof that the damage was intentional or done by the tenants.
