Women’s soccer: Williams becomes EWU’s all-time leading goal scorer in 3-0 victory

Chloe Williams became Eastern Washington’s all-time career goal scorer in the Eagles’ 3-0 victory over Weber State in Cheney on Sunday.

Williams, who came into the match tied with Cassie Black (2011-14) at 24 goals, scored twice and had an assist in the win over the Wildcats (5-7-1, 3-3 Big Sky).

Williams scored the match’s first goal in the 18th minute. In the second half, she had an assist on Devan Talley’s goal before adding her second score.

Mallory Taylor got the win in goal for the Eagles (10-1-2, 4-0-1) with two saves. EWU outshot Weber State 12-6.

Kelly Dopke’s goal in the 57th minute rallied Idaho (8-4-1, 5-1-0 Big Sky) to a 2-1 victory over Portland State (3-10-1, 1-4-1) in Hillsboro, Oregon. Portland State had a 1-0 lead when Elexis Schlossarek tied the match in the 47th minute on a penalty kick.

Morgan Weaver scored six minutes into the second overtime to give Washington State a 2-1 victory over Arizona State in Pullman.

The Sun Devils (6-5-2, 1-3-1 Pac-12) scored in the first half before the Cougars (6-6-1, 1-4-0 Pac-12) finally tied the match on Katie Jones’ goal in the 83rd minute. WSU put 14 shots on goal to the Sun Devils’ two.

Becca Schoales scored in the 62nd minute to give Washington (6-7-1, 1-4-0 Pac-12) a 2-1 victory over Arizona (6-6-1, 1-4-0) in Seattle.

Whitworth (5-7-0, 4-4-0 Northwest) scored two second-half goals to overtake Linfield (3-7-2, 3-3-2) and win 2-1 in Spokane. Kelly Wucherer and Arielle Van Peursem scored for the Pirates.
