Area roundup: Bengals knock off Eagles in volleyball

Marissa Todd notched a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs to spark the Idaho State Bengals (9-11, 4-3) to a 25-23, 25-23, 25-19 win over the Eastern Washington Eagles (9-7, 4-3) in Big Sky Conference volleyball action on Thursday in Pocatello, Idaho.

EWU sophomore Regan Harr earned her second career double-double with 14 assists and 11 digs in the losing effort.

Taylor Larsen led the Eagles with nine kills, while hitting .261. Sophomore Ka’iulani Ahuna added seven kills and 15 digs.

– Lisa Kramer and Lauren Fuller tallied 10 kills apiece to propel the visiting San Diego Toreros (16-2, 7-0) to a 26-24, 25-19, 25-16 sweep over the Gonzaga Bulldogs (11-6, 4-3) in West Coast Conference play.

Emmy Allen and Imani Wimbush posted 11 and 10 kills, respectively, to pace Gonzaga.

– Andrea Hale and Megan Thompson finished with 14 kills each and the Weber State Wildcats (12-3, 4-3) cruised to a 25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23 victory over the visiting Idaho Vandals (7-12, 2-5) in Big Sky Conference action.

Kaela Straw had a match-high 21 kills to lead Idaho. Tarra Varney tied for match-high honors with 13 digs for the Vandals.
