Liberty Lake Police Blotter: ‘Suspicious vehicles’ called in to police actually weren’t

A trio of suspicious vehicles were called in to Liberty Lake police recently, but none of them actually turned out to be suspicious.

A caller said there was a Jeep parked in the middle of the road with no one around near Liberty Lake Road and Country Vista Drive just after 1 a.m. on Oct. 12. However, no Jeep could be located when an officer arrived.

A resident in the 1500 block of North Meyers Court called to report a suspicious vehicle in front of a neighbor’s house around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 14. It turned out that the neighbor was having new flooring installed.

The third suspicious vehicle was reported near Boone Avenue and Molter Road around 12:20 a.m. on Oct. 17. An officer determined the driver and his passengers were playing Pokemon Go.

Oct. 10: A $600 necklace was reported missing in the 2300 block of North Madson Road. A package was reportedly stolen off a porch in the 24000 block of East Pine Point Court. The theft of three small bottles of alcohol was reported by a business in the 1200 block of North Liberty Lake Road.

Oct. 11: A driver was arrested for driving under the influence at 10:35 a.m. on Liberty Lake Road and Appleway Avenue. He reportedly hit a tree, hit a building and then drove through the median, damaging a tree.

Oct. 12: A vehicle was found blocking the road at Liberty Lake Road and Settler Drive around 2:20 a.m. The owner could not be found and the car was towed. A resident in the 22000 block of East Country Vista Drive reported that someone had stolen her identity and used it to obtain unemployment. A guest at a hotel in the 1800 block of North Pepper Lane reported that she thought someone had tampered with her computer while she was out of the room.

Oct. 16: A business in the 22000 block of East Appleway Avenue reported the theft of $48.01 worth of gasoline.

Oct. 17: Residents in the area of Glenbrook and Barker roads reported a suspicious man who was walking around trying to open vehicle doors. The man was gone when an officer arrived.

Arrests: Police made one arrest for domestic violence assault.
